ANNE-SOPHIE GODENIR

If we haven’t met before, my name is Anne-Sophie Godenir and welcome to my website! I am so stoked to have you here. I am a Belgian woman with 2 children and I am living in Brussels.

My understanding of working with the physical body began at an early age. I started dancing at 3 years old, transitionated to comptetitive gymnastics at the age of 7, and retired at 18 while starting my Master’s Degree in Economy. I worked in the marketing industry for several years and decided to quit my corporate job to do what I love!

My path is only one of many, full of ideals and practices inspired by others.

Fascinated by body-mind connections and spiritual thought related to Yoga, I was fortunate enough to discover Ashtanga Yoga  in 2002. Yoga helped me to find the strength and peacefulness I needed to align the « what I love » with the « what I do ». 

In 2015, I decided to do what would resonate in me, vibrate in my heart and maybe some others hearts too. I quit my corporate job to embark on a journey that could really impact other people’s life and mine.

Other interests include: meditation, myofacial and somatic therapies, energetic body work and functional movement. Passionate about science and health, in teaching yoga I found a new passion, and means of helping people in a direct and therapeutic manner.

Close to the world of elite athletes and concerned to bring the benefits of yoga to athletes, I founded in 2018 ΛTHLETΛ•YOGΛ, specific yoga programs for athletes. Two years later, I extended the yoga offer for athletes with tools to develop the mental & cognitive skills of athletes: Mental & cognitive coaching, Visualization & Breathing techniques and Mindfulness programs for athletes. ΛTHLETΛ•MIND was born.

To be able to share my passion for yoga through teaching has been one of my life’s greatest gifts. It inspires change and growth in my life daily. Yoga allows me to meet a vast and diverse group of people all connected by one great love for yoga & movement.

As a yoga teacher, I see continuing education as a natural part of my progressive yoga path. I’m currently engaged in Advanced Study program to become a RYT 500 and I participate regularly to workhops.

My Intentions

I share Yoga as a practice that is available for everybody, age and ability, aiming to support all beings through movement, connection, and playfulness.

With a background in gymnastic, I bring in a unique softness in my Yoga practice with a fine balance between effortless movement and body control, paying attention to alignment not only on the physical form, but also aim to facilitate students in cultivating equilibrium in their minds and bodies.

I strive to ground my students in a continuous awareness of breath, while guiding them through poses giving clear directions, demontrating, and hands-on adjustments.

As mindfulness Instuctor, I teach my classes from the heart, creating an uplifting and safe environment for students to explore and expand within their own body and consciousness using breath, playfulness, and enjoyment of the present moment.

My classes range from peaceful and relaxing Yin to energetic, sweat-inducing Ashtanga, Rocket, Power and Vinyasa Flows.
